Industrial Farmhouse Decor Ideas
If this sounds like you and your ideal home, then industrial farmhouse style is for you! The main focus should be minimal and practical. This decor style is no nonsense; and no room for clutter. If you tend to be a messy person, be honest with yourself before you go all in!
That being said, most people are not 100% one version of farmhouse style. There aren’t rules when it comes to how you decorate your home unless you want it to look picture perfect. (But seriously, who lives like that??) Choose the styles you like best and mix and match your favorite elements.
Kitchen
Concrete or metal countertops are perfect for an industrial farmhouse kitchen. Butcher’s block is another great option. Choose eclectic metal lighting fixtures with Edison light bulbs…You can even find them at Walmart now that farmhouse decor is all the rage. Check out your local Starbucks or modern coffee house for inspiration! I can almost guarantee they’ll have something industrial.
Pipe-frame barstools with worn leather tops or metal chairs with a fun pop of color can bring character to your industrial loft. Mix and match dark and light with your tile and cabinets bring contrast to the room. Black or gray tile can give a fun texture, while white subway tiles are a farmhouse classic. Have fun with it! The ideal visual when shopping for an industrial farmhouse sink is a tall faucet that might be found in a New York restaurant kitchen.
Living & All Other Rooms
Let’s wander into the living room. I love a well placed staircase with dark iron rails. This element sticks to the minimal open concept loft theme, and continues the clean lines through the home. Doors painted black against white or light walls brings contrast without dulling the brightness of the room.
This room is a perfect place to display pieces of art or decorations of meaning that project your personality. Don’t forget to add a few green plants to give life to the room. Your furniture should be low-key, but don’t forego too much comfort for aesthetic. (Again, you do live here.)
Bedrooms can utilize a nice textile rug to bring warmth to wood or stone floors. Pipe-frame is once more a perfect texture for the bed frame. It gives the illusion of less space, making your room look bigger. Bathrooms are an ideal spot for quirky tile and dark faucets.
Now it’s your turn! Take these elements and ideas and apply industrial farmhouse decor to the rest of your home. Enjoy the process and don’t let it overwhelm you. The best decor style is what speaks to you, and you’ll learn more about yourself as you go.
Stay tuned for more versions of farmhouse decor. I’ll be breaking down the classic modern farmhouse (which is a cross between industrial and traditional farmhouse,) rustic farmhouse, and coastal farmhouse. Comment below your favorite of them all, and be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out.
