I love subscriptions boxes! It’s like Christmas every month. Who doesn’t want something to show up at their doorstep, every month, tailored specifically for them?! Today I’m going to review Birchbox and StitchFix – 2 boxes that cover almost all the needs a girl could have!
If you answered “NOT ME!”…then I’m sorry. Maybe you should read my post on showing yourself some love. Because I believe in treating yourself sometimes!
The Easy & Fun Way to Save Time & Money
BirchBox – Travel Size Beauty
Birchbox is a wonderful beauty box I’ve subscribed to for years! You get about 5 deluxe sample size items from well known brands tailored to you in a super cute box (which are perfect for repurposing into drawer separators btw). All you have to do is take a quiz and select what kind of items you’d like, your skin type, your hair type, etc.
If you have sensitive skin, or already have a skincare line you love, no worries! You can opt out of some beauty product types. Some of the items I received ranged from hair care, nail polish, individually packaged deodorant wipes to keep in your purse, sticky strips for fashion emergencies…you get the idea. Everything beauty you could ever think of. Be sure to review your products after you try them for even better tailoring on future boxes.
It’s also a great way to stock up on travel sized items! If you travel a lot, this can save you tons of money, and you can have fun with it along the way! I promise you will never be able to buy 5 deluxe samples for $10 anywhere else. (Just think of the check out line in Sephora, otherwise known as the “aisle of temptation.” Everything is AT LEAST $10.) I found some great products through Birchbox that I still use today. They even have their own online store, so you can easily buy everything in your box, or just one item!
On top of that, they have their own points/reward system. Every $10 box counts towards this automatically, and anything you buy on their website counts. So after 10 months of your box, you’d get $10 credit in your account toward an item on their site. Occasionally they run special promos where you can add an extra item to your box as well if you feel like splurging a bit that month. I’ll link the website here!
StitchFix – Low Maintenance Fashion
Now I don’t personally use StitchFix, but I have quite a few friends I work with that do, and they absolutely rave about it! I wanted to make sure I gave you a genuine opinion, so instead of going off what I’ve heard, I had my friend write up this review for you. The neat thing about it is that every month you’re guaranteed to have some new, on trend pieces in your collection, with zero effort!
Stitch fix is wonderful for the working woman who doesn’t like to shop, doesn’t have time to shop, or feels like they need a little help in the fashion department. StitchFix has amazing clothing – even high end. You start out with a survey to define your style, size, and the amount money you are willing to spend. Your stylist gets to “know you” and matches clothing to any style; be a little patient and give them a few tries to learn what you like.
You can pick everyday, business, or party styles and mix it up every time if you like. You can also choose how often you receive it! No memberships are required. If your weight changes, you become pregnant, or whatever you are doing YOU decide your outcome and the stylist works her magic.
If you receive a piece and it doesn’t fit quite right or just isn’t your style, NO problem! Simply place the item (or items) in your return bag and they will replace for you no shipping fees!
If you’re interested, I’ll link to her referral: stitchfix.com/referral/13151368. This is in no way sponsored by StitchFix, I just wanted to let you know about this convenient option! I encourage you to give it a try!
(If you’re thinking…”Lexi, you’re saying how great this is, but why haven’t you tried it yourself?!” Well ladies, I enjoy the past time of shopping way to much to let someone else do it for me!)

I used to get many a beauty box back when they first launched; I got Birchbox and ipsy, but I found that I wasn’t using the products as much which made it kind of not worth it. I did enjoy getting a little surprise in the mail every month though!
Lovely post! x

My mom did stitchfix and we hated it at first try. Are all the boxes that expensive though!
Lexi says
Birchbox is only $10 a month…personally, I don’t think StitchFix is overpriced at $20 a month, because your $20 gets applied to any of the items you decide to keep! If you don’t like any, you lose out on the $20 “styling fee” as they call it. But I don’t think $20 is too much when someone takes the work out of it for you!
BUT. Like me, it may not be the right fit for your mom! I still wanted to share it with my viewers, because I think it’s an awesome concept. 😊
Lexi says
Great! Personally, I think the product brands are of higher quality through Birchbox. (This is only going off what I’ve seen in photos of Ipsy bags though!!)
Lexi says
Haha! 🤣 I do that too, but at least these you can buy again in full size if you really like them!
Lexi says
Do it girl! You can sign up for month to month so you can cancel anytime!

Agreed, I canceled because I became overwhelmed in travel sized products after a few years. But it’s great if you’re trying to find something that works for you and don’t know where to start!
Lexi says
You’re welcome! I hope you like it 💕
